Text analysis involves examining human language text, using a computer, in order to derive some meaning or insight from the text. Very basic examples of text analysis include quantifying the reading grade level of text, or quantifying how positive or negative the mood of a text passage is. Parsers, dictionaries, tags, and statistical methods are often employed in text analysis.
